Settlement, Sensex 277 points up by 370 points while Nifty closes at 10,948

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian stock market closed today, amid the issue of eliminating Article 370 and 35A. At the end of the trading day, the Sensex rose 277.01 points, or 0.75 per cent, to 36,976.85, while the Nifty closed at 85.65 points, or 0.79 per cent, to 10,948.25.

Talking about mid and smallcap, stocks have seen a boom. The BSE midcap index rose 1.44 percent to close at 13,569 while the smoked index rose 1.72 percent to 12,495. Talking about the Bank Nifty, the index has closed at 28,022 level. The Nifty FMCG index rose 0.24 percent while the auto index rose 1.43 percent, the metal index 1.35 points and the realty index 0.76 percent.

  • Indiabulls Housing, Larson, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Yes Bank, Bajaj Finance and HDFC.

Top loosers:

Cipla, Power Grid Corp, Wipro, Britannia, TCS, Tata Motors, ONGC and Reliance.
