Amul to help develop dairy sector, boost employment in Jammu & Kashmir

Amul in talks with Jammu & Kashmir Dairy union to extend support.

The Centre will create employment opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir with help of develop the dairy and animal husbandry sector.

Amul Managing Director RS Sodhi meet Governor Satya Pal Malik in Srinagar to apprise him of the plans for dairy development in the State.

Governor expressed the desire to strengthen the milk cooperatives.

Board of Directors of the JKMPCL met BVR Subrahmanyam and expressed the desire to expand the coverage of dairy sector. Amul said to be extending support in technology, management and procurement systems.

JKMPCL planning to ramp up capacity about 5 lakh LPD in next 3 years. They also looking to set up two plants for paneer and ice-cream.
