BSNL helps free call-in flood-hit Kerala, K’taka, Maha

State-run telecom firm BSNL on Sunday announced free calling for subscribers within company’s network for seven days in flood-hit areas.

The company has also offered SMS and 1 GB data service for free in these areas.

“Because of the unprecedented flood situation in Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra, BSNL decided to give free voice calls to other mobile operators from BSNL Mobile to BSNL Mobile and 20 minutes free from BSNL Mobile,” BSNL said in a statement.

Airtel has also set up special toll-free helpline 1948 to help in locating missing persons. People unable to reach friends and family in affected areas can call this helpline to get more details.

Also Vodafone Idea too has extended last date for bill payments.

Vodafone customers can dial *130# and Idea customers can dial *150*150# to active Kutty credit,.
