Sensex down 624 points, Yes Bank, Bajaj Finance plunge

After opening lower, the headline indices Sensex and Nifty extended losses to end lower on Tuesday. The Sensex closed 637 points lower at 36,944.81.

All sectoral indices on the NSE settle in the red

The Sensex closed 624 points, or 1.66 per cent, lower at 36,958 levels with 28 of 30 stocks registering losses. YES Bank, M&M< Bajaj Finance, and Bharti Airtel ended the day with deepest cuts while only Reliance Industries and Sun Pharma managed to hold gains. The Nifty50, too, breached the psychological level of 11,000 to settle 184 points, or 1.65 percent, lower at 10,926 mark.  

All the sectoral counters ended in the red. Nifty auto index ended 4 per cent lower, followed by financial services (3 per cent) and banking (2.5 per cent) scrips. 

Top Gainer :

In Sensex,20 percent from Godfrey Philips India Ltd, 7.96 percent from Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd, 9.72 percent from Reliance Industries Ltd., 7.45 percent from Jai Corporation and 6.93 percent to Century Ply. In the Nifty, Reliance Industries Ltd. was the top gainer with 7.74 percent, Indiabulls Housing Finance 2.40 percent, GAIL 0.77 percent, Sanfarma 0.62 percent.

Top losers :

In the Sensex, BEML was the top loser with 12.45 percent, 11.16 percent, Yes Bank 10.35 percent, Madarson Sumi 8.94 percent and IIFL 8.84 percent. Nifty was the top loser with Zee Entertainment 0.50 percent, JSW Steel 0.50 percent, UltraTech Cement 0.49 percent, Bajaj Finance 0.38 percent, Power Grid 0.3 percent.
