WFI pulls up Sakshi Malik for indiscipline, 25 wrestlers expelled from national camp

Sakshi Malik among 25 wrestlers barred from WFI camp

Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik has been issued a show-cause notice by the Indian Wrestling Federation on Monday.

Sakshi is accused of leaving the national camp without permission. The Wrestling Federation of India has sent this notice to Sakshi for breaking discipline and leaving the training camp without being told.

Significantly, 25 players have been expelled for the same reason. From the National Camp of Sports Authority of India (Sai), Lucknow, 25 out of 45 players left without taking permission. Due to which these players were expelled.

According to WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar, once the Indian squads left for Belarus and Estonia for preparatory tournaments, the remaining wrestlers left the camp without seeking permission.
