BSNL 100 Mbps new broadband plan at Rs 1999, It will take on Reliance JioFiber

BSNL is expected to face the biggest pressure in-home broadband segment when Reliance JioFiber becomes available in September. The Mukesh Ambani-led company has announced that commercial roll out of JioFiber will begin from September 5, 2019.

Jio-Fiber Service will be available starting at 700. While it is promising to be a game-changer in a market with low broadband penetration, BSNL seems to be prepared for the fight. The state-owned telecom player is expected to compete with the help of its unlimited combo plans.

BSNL’s new Rs 1,999 plan offers 33GB data per day with speed 100Mbps.

The plan also includes free landline voice calls to any network across the country. The latest plan joins BSNL’s other optic fiber-based data plans which also offer 100Mbps data speed. For instance, you can get Rs 1,277 plan which has 750GB monthly data. The Rs 2,499 plan offers 44GB of daily data.

Airtel, too, has a bundled broadband offer under the Airtel V-Fiber connection that provides unlimited data allowance each month at 100Mbps, combined with free calling at Rs 1,999. The unique feature of this plan is that it provides all of the data access without an FUP (fair usage) cap at the peak speed, while BSNL caps high speed data usage to 4Mbps beyond limit, and Jio caps to 1Mbps beyond limit.
