Amritsar: Firing at bus stand over timing of plying of buses

Two rounds of fire were shot in sir during a fight between two groups of transporters at Amritsar’s bus stand on Thursday.

According to reports two transporters who had a permit for same route had a scuffle over the timing of the playing of buses.

What began with verbal dual between as many as two dozen person of both the groups soon turned into fisticuffs fight, stick fight and one group opening fire in air to threaten the other.

SHO police station A division Neeraj Kumar informed that New Deep Bus and Baba Budha Transport had some differences over time of plying of their buses. He informed that both the parties were called by Ferozpur RTO to discuss the issue.

“They had differences over just a couple of minutes of running their respective buses but they entered into a brawl and one of the party fired two rounds in the air” said Neeraj.

Sources informed that as many as three buses were damaged in the incident. Passengers from one of the bus that came under attack fled to safety, added sources.
